i bought myself tulips today. lovely pink/orange ones. six of them.
i had asked keirnan for some yesterday, but the florist where he decided to go didn't have any left. so he bought me daffodils instead.
cheery, yellow, daffodils. they are nice flowers, but never one of my favorites, which is what i told him ..after thanking him, of course.
later on as he is helping me cook dinner, he says quietly, it's better than getting nothing, right?
i don't know exactly what hit me about him saying that, but instead of feeling bad or guilty for having voiced my own feelings, i felt nothing but compassion for his.
