today i learned what forgiveness is..and all this time, here i thought i had it. here i thought it wasn't so bad..just think good things about the person, try not to judge them, try to see their circumstances, reconcile yourself to that person by whatever means is necessary.
all lovely things, but not forgiveness itself. the word forgive means to absolve from payment, voluntarily and in the Christian sense, with love. that's it. end game. most importantly, in order to forgive whatever debt, one must know what the hell one is forgiving.
reconciliation is not forgiveness. period. it's not even necessary to the act of forgivenss as in freeing one's heart, mind and soul from the pain caused by another.
