i watched igby goes down last night and apart from being a well filmed movie, it didn't move me in any special way..rather boring of plot at times, but there's not much you can do with a "coming of age" story, i suppose.
the little twist in this story is the relationships he has with his father, mother and brother which through various circumstance are all distant of a sort. he has no purchase, no role model that he wants to immitate or finds worthy of immitation...
i think there should be some 1-800 number devoted to helping people stay on track with their voluntary mortifications. i so want some emotional satisfaction.
