the fool in me [ 08.07.03, 3:53 p.m. ]

if you haven't yet discovered beagle's bayings, you are missing out.

Foolish men mistake transitory semblance for eternal fact. (Thomas Carlyle).

it is time to create a semblance of normalcy. ...to fall back on a familiar routine...

see, one simply surrenders to a loss or summons the strength to move-on past,

like driving by a sign-post on the side of a (not nearly as long as one imagines) road by pressing a little harder on the gas pedal.

there is little solace in recounting the specifics.

suffice it to say that every kind gesture is sincerely appreciated.

but moving forward, unfortunately,

is only one part personal sentiment.

it is infinte parts personal struggle.

a certain sense of innocence lost pervades.

no doubt the burning flame has dulled to a flicker.

yet, there is the old assurance that time heals all wounds which do not kill,

even those most deeply cut
.

thus, one tiny step

with a tip-toe back into the cold and deep blue mystery

that is the ocean of life.

yes, one tiny step back...albeit a shaking, unsteady, and uncertain one at that.

the above is entitled ant driving 2002-2003 beagle47, bolding my own.
