a reason for this war?
91,000 people dead in one year due to usa led sanctions on iraq FOR CONTROL OF OIL. that's in one year. x 12 = one fuck of a big number.
tell me where liberation is for the women and children in other countries like the sudan, like kenya, like armenia, turkey, russia(where thousands are preyed upon and brought into the sex slave trade by the armenian mafia, etc).
give me a bloody break, already. there are atrocities committed everyday..by this logic, shouldn't we fight wars for them all? why not secure the safety of women in north america for fuck sake? why not fight for the death of people who cause women and children to be beaten, raped and killed every day here in the west?
the bottom line is this war is not about freedom of people. it's about power, money and oil. otherwise the war on iraq would have commenced in it's full blaze of glory a decade ago.
and that's my anti-war reply to this drivel of a news story. why did these women focus on rape when in afghanistan women and girls are still routinely raped by men? and this country is supposedly benefiting from transitional help towards a better government. or is it really that the objective has been reached. fuck the people. on to the next?
unfortunately these ladies are raped yet again...the media will use these stories, just as they did the amnesty international release of human rights violations in iraq.
war is not the answer.
i found this story on a site i sometimes visit. it's a message board type of set-up and i could have posted the above there, but i chose to just leave it here with the rest of my personal thoughts. besides that fact, i have no wish to be smartly put down for my views..or to start any kind of arguement. there's enough fighting going on i think.
originally, i wanted to post my thoughts on the human sacrifice being extracted by this war. i can identify with the mindset of the soldiers, i feel for their families, i am saddened by the deaths ....but also i am sickened by the iraqi death toll and i am sickened by this war. it is an awful thing to think about, how many people are dying in this conflict that has only just reached a head of sorts. the war on iraq has been going on(including bombing)for the past 12 years.
